|What are you going to put in your online dating profile to score a date?
First rule of online dating: those that make the first move are often rewarded. Reach out, communicate, open up. What do you have to lose?
Here are some tips to keep your profile fresh.
Not too long, not too short
Write a profile that is detailed enough to tell people about you, but short enough to leave someone wanting more. Writing a full length essay is a waste of time as most people won't bother reading it all.
If you want to attract a like minded person, you have to be honest about who you are, your hobbies and interests. Talk briefly about your job and things you enjoy doing in your free time. It's real simple, don't lie, be honest and be yourself.
Too much information
Avoid mentioning past disappointments and bad break-ups in your profile. Seriously, don't do that. Don’t let yourself be defined by negative and bad experiences of your past.
Upload a picture
You have to do this. Would you contact someone with no picture in their profile? Not having a photo in your profile will make people ignore you completely. Don’t worry about your looks. Different people have different tastes and not everyone expects to meet a movie star or a supermodel online. A clear head shot or selfie of you smiling is all it takes to seriously increase the amount of responses you get.
Make sure your profile, your screen name and your picture all match the impression you want to give. Be smart. If you guys out there are looking for a wife, you should probably not use a username that hints about how good you are in bed.
Remember: your profile is the first (and often last) impression you will make to potential online matches. Make it count.
Sidenote: I recently signed up for Sugar Daddie, after seeing it on the Dr. Phil show. I've already have some promising conversations on SD. When you aren't having any luck with Match, EHarmony, POF, and all the others, don't be shy, try something different. Sugardaddie.com is definitely that, lots of different women on there.
